On the Way to D.C.

5:00 am, Wednesday, February 4th

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..."
That is the song I woke up to this morning to start my trip to Washington. Its a great song to set as my alarm, it makes me happy in the morning.  I think its because no matter what song i set to be my alarm it undoubtedly gets stuck in my head at least until after breakfast.

After making a quick phone call to put an even bigger smile on my face, I hopped in the shower, hopped out, got dressed, dried my hair, packed, poured myself a cup of coffee, and walked out the door at 6:08.
We are now sitting in the Red Carpet Club before heading to our gate.  Papa is enjoying his paper, and Honey is enjoying her (my) blackberry, and I am enjoying my orange juice.  I hope to sleep on the plane, to make up for my lack of sleep last night. My cousin, Megan, is house and dog sitting for us while we are gone, and we are basically meant to be together. We talked the night away getting caught up on each others lives and I got to bed around one.

I brought my still and video cameras, hoping to catch some candid Warren moments, though I am not sure what kind of restrictions I will be held to on filming anything.  We will be touring the capitol building later today, and I am pretty sure I will not be allowed any kind of photography- but I will do my best to honor both my blog and my county's safety. bah.

Earlier, my parents and I were discussing the coming events of the next two days and I announced to them my plan to shamelessly be my boisterous self and meet as many cool people as I possibly can.  I am not going to hold back, people. I'm pretty sure they shared a sidelong glance at my expense, just wait until we actually get there.... hehehehe
